Job Description:
The Aspera Devops and Site-Reliability Team is a small team dedicated to managing IBM Aspera’s SaaS offering, Aspera on Cloud. Aspera on Cloud is an application that customers such as Walt Disney, Warner Bros, Netflix, BP, Shell, and Sony, utilize for managing and transferring files in the cloud, whether it be in IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google. Aspera’s software enables customers to transfer files at enhanced speeds, allowing for remote workflows that stretch across the globe. It is a unique offering in IBM, being truly multi-cloud from the very beginning, which means team members work in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and Google.
The Devops/SRE team is responsible for ensuring uptime requirements are met, ensuring compliance requirements are being adhered to, and ensuring the code changes are deployed smoothly. We are the glue that holds the service together, and the conduit between developers and the services they write. This position will include being part of an on-call rotation. Engineers in this position will be providing L3 support to Aspera on Cloud. They will be learning about the application, responding to outages, and working with developers on improving observability practices.
