The opportunity
As an indirect tax services professional at Ernst & Young, you will help leading organizations to identify risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities for indirect taxes throughout the tax life cycle. We will give you access to the methodologies and tools required and help you to develop the skills you need to be a successful advisor.
Our Real Estate Property Tax team serves clients throughout nearly all industries, handling many types of property-related issues, market analysis, portfolio related services, complex property analysis and valuation. Our professionals frequently deal with large portfolios of real property assets on a global basis. As an advanced analyst at EY, you will join our real estate team and have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading professionals across diverse industries while building your professional skills by participating in a variety of projects.
Your key responsibilities
Primary responsibility to track client’s commercial real estate properties for the purpose of tax assessment
Retrieve assessment values through online/email/call to assessing jurisdiction
Update iTamlink software with the assessed value, market value, assessment ratio, etc and other relevant information
Keeps track of client’s portfolio and based on properties appeal deadlines. Runs report to identify the properties which doesn’t have values populated
Help to keep the team up to date with current best practice within India
Experience prioritizing tasks, working on multiple assignments, and managing ambiguity
Analyses assessment notices and determines potential assessment reductions. Works effectively with onshore team and taxing authorities
Skills and attributes for success
Good command over MS Excel –can use formulas and comfortable with computations
Analytical ability
Good understanding of US state property tax laws
Strong interpersonal skills (ability to liaise at all levels)
Commitment to on-going self-development
Ability to communicate and interact with clients
Ability to cope under pressure and meet deadlines
Good time management skills
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in one of the following majors including: Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a Real Estate / Economic focus, or a related field of study
Ideally, you’ll also have
Excellent organizational and analytical abilities and verbal/written communication skills
Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills
Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative
Comfortable interacting with senior executives
